Popular YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast, reacted to his older video where he sent a message to his future self, asking if he would still be creating videos.
Now that MrBeast has become the most popular creator on YouTube, he’s shared that he has a backlog of videos already filmed and ready to release.
I was so excited to see he dug up some old videos! They’re from when he was just starting on YouTube, and basically, he’d record messages to his future self, wondering if he’d hit certain goals. He just posted one from ten years ago where he’s asking if he’s finally reached 1 million subscribers – it was so cool to watch him check in with his past self!
As expected with a MrBeast video, this one’s getting a lot of buzz online. Jimmy shared that he almost gave up on becoming a YouTuber because of negativity he faced in high school.
MrBeast uploads decade-old video with YouTube predictions
I made this video on October 4, 2015, when my channel had around 8,000 subscribers. I’m planning to publish it tomorrow!

The popular YouTuber addressed his earlier video, ‘hi me in 10 years,’ where he playfully mentioned getting married before reaching one million subscribers. He also shared a story from his childhood about teachers believing he couldn’t speak, because he used to avoid talking about YouTube.
He admitted he’s completely hooked on YouTube, saying it feels like a part of him now. He was responding to a question about whether he’d ever considered stopping.
If I could go back in time and tell my 17-year-old self that we’d have 440 million subscribers, he’d think I was joking! Back then, the most popular channels had maybe 10 million subscribers, tops.
Jimmy shared that people dismissed his passion for YouTube in high school, telling him that nobody cared, which was really upsetting for him.
He’s much more confident now – his confidence has grown ten times over – and that’s enabled him to become the content creator he is today.
He expressed gratitude for his youthful persistence, joking that he’s always been incredibly stubborn. He explained that even without an audience, he would still be creating videos, because becoming a YouTuber was his unwavering goal – he was completely committed to it.
