Popular YouTubers IShowSpeed and MrBeast have shared their strategies for handling negativity and criticism that comes with their fame.
No matter how well you’re doing online, you’ll always encounter criticism. The more popular you become, the more likely you are to face people who try to find fault with your work, often hoping to see you fail.
During their time at the Joy Festival in Saudi Arabia, popular creators MrBeast and IShowSpeed were asked about this topic.
Early in my career, negative comments really bothered me,” Speed explained. “But after five years of building an online presence and streaming, I’ve learned to deal with it. No matter how great something is, someone will always find something to criticize.

Speed added that “you can’t listen to it,” which MrBeast somewhat agreed with.
With a large audience, it’s inevitable that some people will disagree with what you do,” Donaldson explained. “It’s about numbers – if you have a small percentage of negative feedback compared to positive, you’re on the right track. It’s rare to find something that everyone agrees on, so aiming for 99% approval is a good sign.
Many people get discouraged when they focus on a few negative comments after reading a larger number of responses. It’s important to remember that those few negative comments usually represent a very small percentage of the overall feedback.
Speed and MrBeast discuss the difficulties they overcame and how they dealt with negativity as they built their careers in a new interview.

MrBeast mentioned he sometimes gets emotional when reading comments on his videos, but he tries to view them as helpful feedback he can use to improve his future content.
Chandler, often featured in MrBeast’s videos, shared a similar thought on the Around The Bar podcast. He explained, “I sometimes face criticism, but I don’t give people a reason to be critical.”
