MrBeast reveals “horrible” vision is why he doesn’t smile with his eyes
In a recent interaction on the platform (previously known as Twitter), one user requested opinions from others. In response, MrBeast shared an insightful commentary; he mentioned that this particular question prompted him to ultimately schedule an eye exam, and currently, he uses contact lenses.
The YouTuber started by saying that he frequently receives this feedback, which led him to get an eye exam. He later disclosed that he was diagnosed with “severe astigmatism,” and added that his vision is extremely poor.

Astigmatism happens when the curvature of your eye’s front surface (the cornea) or its inner lens isn’t uniformly rounded like a ball. Instead, it takes on an egg shape, leading to distorted vision at various distances.
As for me, I’d confess, “I can hardly make out things clearly without my glasses, otherwise I end up squinting a lot. That’s probably why my eyes seemed to wander off-kilter in old photos whenever I flashed a smile.
Later on, he expressed gratitude to those who had mentioned that his facial expressions didn’t seem to include smiling with his eyes. He also noted that this observation aided him in understanding that distant objects should not appear blurry.
