A new trailer for Mortal Kombat II has been released.
Warner Bros. Pictures is releasing a new action movie, Mortal Kombat II, in U.S. theaters and IMAX this May. It’s a sequel to the 2021 film Mortal Kombat and is based on the popular video game series. Simon McQuoid directed the movie, and Jeremy Slater wrote the screenplay.

What happens in the Mortal Kombat II trailer?
The new trailer for Mortal Kombat II showcases Johnny Cage, played by Karl Urban, along with returning cast member Josh Lawson as Kano. The film also stars Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, Damon Herriman as Quan Chi, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, and Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi/Scorpion, among others.
The new Mortal Kombat II movie delivers the intense action fans expect from the popular video game series. This installment features familiar heroes, including Johnny Cage, as they fight against the evil Shao Kahn to save Earthrealm from destruction in a relentlessly violent and epic battle.
Todd Garner, James Wan, Toby Emmerich, E. Bennett Walsh, and David McQuoid are the producers of the film. Michael Clear, Judson Scott, John Slater, and Lawrence Kasanoff worked as executive producers.
The next Mortal Kombat movie is scheduled to release on May 8, 2026. You can currently watch the 2021 Mortal Kombat film on HBO Max and The Roku Channel. A third movie is also being planned, but details are still scarce.
