More Tomb Raider Ports May Be Coming To Switch 2

Last month, Aspyr unexpectedly released Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on both the Switch and the new Switch 2. Aspyr reports the game has been very well-received, and they’re now considering bringing more Tomb Raider titles to the Switch 2.

Jordon Reese, a product manager at Aspyr, recently discussed the potential for bringing Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider to the Switch 2 in an interview with Nintendo Everything. While he didn’t confirm the games are coming, he didn’t rule it out either, suggesting they could still happen.

As a huge Tomb Raider fan, I was so excited to hear from Reese that they’ve managed to bring those classic games – the originals from 1 through 6 – and Lara Croft’s origin story to Nintendo! They aren’t saying anything specific just yet, but the amazing reaction to this release is really encouraging them to think about bringing even more classic content to the platform, which is awesome!

Reese confirmed that additional updates are planned for the Nintendo Switch versions of Tomb Raider, though specifics weren’t revealed. The game is also expected to be released on mobile devices in February 2026.

Earlier this month, Crystal Dynamics announced two new Tomb Raider games. A remake of the very first game, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, is scheduled for release in 2026. Following that, in 2027, players can expect Tomb Raider: Catalyst, a completely new adventure starring Lara Croft.

Camilla Luddington, who famously voiced Lara Croft in the three ‘Survivor’ games, recently announced she’s stepping down from the role and wished Alix Wilton Regan well as she takes over.

I’m really excited about the upcoming Tomb Raider TV series on Prime Video! Sophie Turner is going to be Lara Croft, which is perfect casting in my opinion. And get this – Sigourney Weaver from Avatar, along with Martin Bobb-Semple and Jason Isaacs, are all going to be in it too! We don’t have a release date yet, but I’m already counting down the days!
