Monster Hunter Wilds has sold 11 million copies, Capcom says, but it’s barely clinging to the best-seller list thanks to the likes of Resident Evil and Devil May Cry

Even though Monster Hunter Wilds hasn‘t been well-received by players, Capcom reports over 11 million copies have been sold. However, sales appear to be slowing down.

Monster Hunter Wilds has been facing several problems. Although the game had some issues with how difficult it was, these were quickly overshadowed by its poor performance, particularly on computers. Updates haven’t fully fixed the issues for players, and a strange bug even caused the game to run better if you had all of the downloadable content installed.

I was so excited to see Capcom’s latest sales numbers! Monster Hunter Wilds has already sold over 11 million copies, which is incredible! That puts it ahead of Devil May Cry 5 and makes it the eighth best-selling game Capcom has ever made. It’s amazing to see the series doing so well!

Even though the new Monster Hunter game reached a significant milestone, it’s only just managing to stay in the company’s top 10 best-selling games from the last three months. Both the original Monster Hunter Rise and its expansion, Sunbreak, sold better than the newest release, Wilds. This pattern continued from the previous quarter, suggesting Rise is doing well while Wilds is facing challenges.

Beyond the top-selling games, the list was largely filled with titles from the Resident Evil series. Street Fighter 6 has now sold over 6 million copies, although there was a mistake in the original report listing its sales as 16 million. Devil May Cry 5 has also seen a boost, selling an additional 2.4 million copies since April 2025. Despite some criticism of the Devil May Cry Netflix series, it seems to have significantly increased interest in the games.
