Monster Hunter Wilds’ final major update arrives next week, and Capcom is showing off more of the action RPG’s massive Elder Dragon Gogmazios

Capcom recently shared all the details about the next update for Monster Hunter Wilds, Title Update 4, which will be released next week. They had previously postponed revealing this information.

The next update for Monster Hunter Wilds arrives next week on Tuesday, December 16th, and Capcom has revealed all the details. The highlight is the addition of Gogmazios, a large Elder Dragon originally featured in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Considering Monster Hunter Wilds heavily draws inspiration from the fourth generation of games, Gogmazios is a perfect addition to wrap things up.

Capcom announced that players can now fight Gogmazios with a larger group – up to eight hunters total. Standard four-player teams can invite four more hunters to assist with the quest. Defeating Gogmazios unlocks the ability to craft powerful Rarity 8 Gogma Artian Weapons, letting you deal even more damage to monsters.

Although Title Update 4 is the last major update for now, the game isn’t finished yet. Next week will bring a new challenge with Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad, and on February 18, 2026, players can look forward to Arch-tempered Arkveld, new quests, and a Monster Hunter Stories 3 collaboration. We might also get a sneak peek at a larger update during The Game Awards.

It’s impossible to discuss Monster Hunter Wilds without addressing its performance issues, and Capcom has shared its plans to improve things on PC. Over the next three months, they’ll release three updates specifically designed to optimize how the game uses your computer’s processor and graphics card.
