A free demo of Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is now available! You can try it out before the full game launches on March 13, 2026. Announced at the recent Nintendo Direct showcase, the demo is playable on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Capcom revealed Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection during the Nintendo Direct in July 2025. This is the newest game in the Monster Hunter Stories spin-off series. Unlike the main Monster Hunter games, which focus on real-time action combat, Monster Hunter Stories uses turn-based battles and plays more like a traditional Japanese role-playing game (JRPG). The Monster Hunter Stories games also prioritize story and character development, and early marketing for Twisted Reflection highlights this focus.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection Free Demo Is Available Now
A new trailer for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection was revealed during the recent Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase. The one-minute trailer highlighted the game’s main storyline – a conflict between the kingdoms of Azuria and Vermeil, and the mysterious appearance of twin Rathalos. Nintendo also announced that a free demo for Monster Hunter Stories 3 is available to play now.
The demo for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection lets you play the beginning of the game. You can even carry your progress to the full game when it launches on March 13th. Just be sure to buy the complete version of Monster Hunter Stories 3 on the same device you used to play the demo to keep your saved game.
You can now pre-order the complete version of Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. There are three different editions available for fans to pick from.
- Standard Edition ($69.99) — Includes the base game
- Deluxe Edition ($89.99) — Includes the base game and the Deluxe Kit, which features an additional side story, five layered armor sets for companions, a set of monster hairs, and a set of Rudy outfits
- Premium Deluxe Edition ($99.99) — Includes the base game, the Deluxe Kit, and an additional five layered armor sets, more monster hairs, and another set of Rudy outfits
If you pre-order any version of Monster Hunter Stories 3, you’ll receive a special armor outfit for your character, Eleanor. Players who get the game on Nintendo Switch 2 can also use three different Amiibo figures. Two of these feature the rival Rathalos monsters, and one is based on the cute Palico companion, Rudy. Scanning the Rathalos Amiibo will unlock ‘Ratha’ and ‘Ratha V’ armor sets for your character, while scanning the Rudy Amiibo will give your Palico a fun ‘Oinky Chic’ outfit. Plus, you can scan these Amiibo once a day to get useful items in the game.

During the recent Nintendo Direct, Capcom showcased several games, including Monster Hunter Stories 3, Resident Evil Requiem, and Pragmata. Resident Evil Requiem‘s trailer highlighted the distinct gameplay styles of Grace Ashcroft and Leon Kennedy, and hinted at the game’s core mystery. Pragmata’s trailer focused on its unique hacking combat system.
