For three weeks straight, Disney’s “Moana 2” remained number one at the U.K. and Ireland box office, earning approximately £3.6 million ($4.5 million) during its latest weekend. This brings its overall earnings in these regions to a total of £26.4 million ($33.5 million), as reported by Comscore’s data.
In the second spot, Universal’s “Wicked” showed resilience by earning an additional £3.4 million in its fourth week, bringing its total to a strong £43.6 million. Paramount’s “Gladiator II” secured third place with £918,256 in the fifth week, pushing its overall earnings to £28.4 million. Meanwhile, “Paddington in Peru,” distributed by Studiocanal, maintained its position in fourth place, earning £821,657 over a six-week period, taking its total earnings to £30.2 million.
Sony’s latest release, “Kraven the Hunter,” earned £686,806 in its debut, placing fifth. Meanwhile, Black Bear’s film “Conclave” collected an additional £554,970 in its third week, bringing its total to £4 million. Lastly, Warner Bros.’ new offering, “Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim,” debuted at number seven with a box office take of £483,583.
In the eighth spot, Mubi’s “Queer” debuted with a gross of £293,040. Meanwhile, Warner Bros.’ “Red One,” placed ninth, earned an additional £259,405 in its sixth week, bringing its total earnings to £7.7 million. Completing the top 10 was AA Films U.K.’s “Pushpa 2 – The Rule” with £207,347 in its second week, raising its overall earnings to £1.6 million.
Upcoming, “Ivanov/Wright The Nutcracker” special from Trafalgar Releasing will be screened at the Royal Opera House starting from Tuesday. Before the holiday season, the animated movie “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl,” available on Netflix and featuring the voices of Ben Whitehead, Peter Kay, and Lauren Patel, will be released in selected theaters on Wednesday.
This coming Friday, Disney’s highly anticipated movie “Mufasa: The Lion King” will make its grand debut, promising a powerful impact at the cinema. Simultaneously, Miracle/Dazzler’s animation “Dolphin Boy” is set to premiere as well. In this heartwarming film, a young boy is saved by a wild dolphin after a plane crash and their remarkable friendship unfolds.
This Friday will see the debut of two Indian films: “Vanvaas” from Zee Studios International, which is an action-drama in the Hindi language and stars Nana Patekar and Utkarsh Sharma; and “Marco,” a Malayalam-language spinoff of 2019’s “Mikhael” produced by Dreamz Entertainment. This film features Unni Mukundan reprising his role as the antagonist from the original movie.
