Naturally, I, as one of those fans, couldn’t wait to find out how they would enhance the Road to the Show experience for us all.
As for now, San Diego Studio hasn’t fully disclosed their future plans, but Sony has unveiled a release date and exciting updates that fanatics will find captivating.

MLB The Show 25’s cover stars
In honor of our brand reaching its 20-year milestone, baseball legends Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz, and Gunnar Henderson will make history by appearing on our cover for the very first time.
According to SDS Brand Strategist Ramone Russell, these up-and-coming players are joining an esteemed lineage of iconic cover athletes, representing the future of baseball while we commemorate the 20th anniversary of this remarkable franchise.
Speaking of the athletes, Paul Skenes was chosen as the top selection by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2023 draft. Remarkably, he made history in 2024 when he became the first player to debut in the All-Star Game just a year after being drafted.
In the year 2023, Elly De La Cruz stepped onto the field for his first league match following his signing with the Cincinnati Reds. Known as one of the most electrifying players currently, he is among the youngest baseball stars to achieve a rare feat in Major League Baseball – hitting for the cycle, which involves hitting a single, double, triple, and a home run within the same game.
In summary, the Baltimore Orioles chose Gunnar Henderson with the 42nd pick during the 2019 draft. He made his debut in the 2022 season and played a crucial part in leading the team to their first postseason appearance in seven years, which happened in 2023. Since then, he has been recognized as the AL Rookie of the Year and received a Silver Slugger Award.
