One unexpected success on Steam was MiSide, which saw a surge of interest during the holiday season, with approximately 24,000 players playing simultaneously at its peak. The game’s unique combination of horror mystery, warm ambiance, and diverse mini-games certainly contributed to its popularity. A festive theme was introduced in the Christmas update, although some players found it difficult and requested an option to turn it off. On the positive side, this update also brought new languages and voiceovers for the beloved character Mita, with more dubbing planned! English dubbing in MiSide confirmed
At first, MiSide offered voiceovers only in Japanese and Russian. But with version 0.91, Portuguese-Brazilian dubbing was included, all thanks to the dedicated work of fans: Eveline Teach, Azaazel, DJBK_ofc, and Raviel Karim. Isn’t that fantastic?
Toward the close of the year, update 0.921 introduced Spanish voice-overs, crafted by enthusiastic fans MiMi and Chemichi Von Alexandros. This release also extended language options to Italian, Vietnamese, Polish, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Indonesian, Romanian, and additional languages. So, what’s on the horizon?
The AIHASTO development team has just hinted at the upcoming dubbing in Turkish, English, French, and Spanish (Latin America) for MiSide on their Discord platform. This is another step in their active engagement with the community. What makes this announcement particularly exciting is that these versions will include voiced lines for players, a significant upgrade compared to the Japanese release which only had Mita’s spoken dialogue.
While these translations are still under development and specific launch dates haven’t been set, it’s safe to say that Mita will soon be able to communicate fluently in many different languages.
