The next Minecraft game is finished and will be released shortly, but fans aren’t very happy with what’s included.
Minecraft is now updated more often with smaller releases instead of one big update each year. This has allowed players to enjoy new content like the Pale Garden biome, the Happy Ghast mob, and additions such as wolf armor, Copper Golems, and challenging trials that offer extra rewards.
A new update, often called the ‘baby mob’ update, is coming out shortly, but many players are disappointed, describing it as the least impressive update so far and hoping for more substantial additions.
Minecraft fans call out “nothing update”
When the latest Minecraft update was announced on the official website, many players shared their disappointment online, criticizing the new features as being too basic.
One player called this update the worst one so far, and another agreed, pointing out it only included updated textures and bug fixes. They were disappointed there weren’t even new animations for the new characters, and wondered if this small update replaced the larger, more comprehensive updates they used to receive annually.

Many people reacted to the new features, pointing out that the update mostly seemed to address problems and change the appearance of existing elements. One fan commented, “So, just one new thing was added, and everything else was just fixing bugs?” Another user compared it to older updates, saying, “This update feels less substantial than even the 1.10 ‘Frostburn’ update from Minecraft’s earlier days.”
One player acknowledged enjoying the new baby creatures, but criticized the items they drop, calling it the worst drop rate so far. They appreciated the new mobs themselves, despite being disappointed with what they received.
I’ve been seeing a lot of the same feedback online, and it’s kind of split. A lot of people are really into the new baby mobs and all the different looks they have, plus everyone’s happy about the bug fixes. But it seems like a lot of players are disappointed. Basically, if you’re into building and decorating, or you’re a server admin or datapack creator, you’ll probably love this update. But for most of us, it feels like one of the least exciting updates we’ve seen since 1.19.
Okay, so yeah, a lot of people are pretty annoyed right now, but honestly, I’m really digging the new mobs and especially the Golden Dandelion! I’ve seen others say the same thing – someone pointed out it really adds to the feeling of being in the game, and I totally get what they mean. I don’t know why everyone’s complaining so much, it’s actually a cool addition!
The update doesn’t have a release date just yet, with it likely coming out sometime in the Spring.
