Top Super Smash Bros. player Mew2King stated he refuses to take a minimum wage job, even though he currently earns just $2 per hour streaming on Twitch.
Jason Zimmerman, known as ‘Mew2King,’ used to be one of the best Super Smash Bros. Melee players in the world, but he hasn’t competed in tournaments for several years.
Zimmerman, alongside famous Melee players like Armada, PPMD, Mang0, and Hungrybox, was considered one of the game’s five best players. However, despite his past achievements, he hasn’t been able to turn that success into financial gain.
Mew2King recently shared details about his streaming income and explained why he chooses to focus on gaming full-time instead of taking on traditional employment.

Mew2King refuses to get minimum wage job despite low streaming income
Zimmerman says that Hungrybox, a top player of the character Jigglypuff, suggested he find a job that pays at least minimum wage.
He said he earns around $2 per hour, even with 20 to 30 people watching and a lot of ads running. He admitted that $2 an hour isn’t much.
Mew2King explained that he primarily earns money through raids and overnight streams, relying on viewers who tune in while he’s live.
It seems like everyone else has a regular routine and a good social life, and they usually stop using their devices around 11 PM. I figure I should probably start my day around then too, just to fit in. I’m mostly just focused on getting through things.
Professional Super Smash Bros. player Mew2King recently shared that his streaming income is surprisingly low. He stated that he earns around $2 per hour when he has between 20 and 30 viewers, even with advertisements running. This prompted a conversation with another player, Hbox, who suggested Mew2King consider a minimum wage job. For more updates, follow @FoxNewsSSB.

The Super Smash Bros. player wondered if he was a good streamer, noting he’d spent tens of thousands of hours streaming over several years.
As for the advice Hbox gave him, Mew2King was adamantly opposed.
“I’m just gonna do what I love, which is gaming. I’m just gonna do that forever.”
Zimmerman’s performance could improve with the release of a new Super Smash Bros. game. While Nintendo hasn’t officially announced one, comments from the game’s creator, Masahiro Sakurai, strongly hint that it’s currently being made.
It’s still unknown whether the next game will be a completely new title, or an expanded version of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with additional characters and levels.
For now, it remains to be seen whether Mew2King can attract a larger audience with new content, or if he’ll decide to find a job to supplement his income.
