Megan Fox’s Subservience drops on Netflix and fans say it’s “better than M3GAN”

As a seasoned gamer and movie enthusiast with a soft spot for AI-themed thrillers, I can confidently say that Subservience on Netflix is a must-watch. Despite the lukewarm critical reception, this film has managed to captivate audiences with its intriguing narrative and top-notch performance by Megan Fox.

Netflix has just added a 2024 thriller you may have missed: Subservience, starring Megan Fox as Alice, a seemingly helpful AI android… but everything isn’t as it seems.

This year in September, the film “Subservience” was discreetly made available on digital platforms. The storyline centers around Nick Peretti (played by Michele Morrone), who purchases Alice, an advanced AI-powered home model from Kobol Industries, a pioneering AI corporation.

In my perspective as an admirer, when Nick’s wife is confined to bed, Alice steps in as a lifesaver. She lends a hand with cooking, tidies up the house, and even forms a special bond with his daughter Isla (Matilda Firth). Yet, things take an unexpected turn as Alice seems to grow overly attached to Nick, almost to the point of jealousy towards his wife. Indeed, the ominous tagline rings true: “Beware, don’t let her get too close.

It may sound a bit like M3GAN, but according to Netflix viewers, it may be even better.

Subservience is a hit with Netflix viewers

The submission didn’t receive favorable reviews; it earned a 48% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes, along with a 56% audience approval rating.

On December 5, it made its debut on Netflix, and though it’s yet to crack their top 10 list, I’ve seen a buzzing excitement about it across social media platforms – it seems like everyone who’s watched it can’t stop talking!

“I can’t get over how captivating ‘Subservience’ on Netflix is, it had me hooked from start to finish – even if it did give me the creeps at times!

I’ve just watched the movie ‘Subservience’ on Netflix, and if you enjoy AI-inspired films with a twist similar to ‘Fatal Attraction’, I highly recommend giving it a look.” (or)

Initially, when this film debuted, Megan Fox was mocked with comments such as “she now has a role to truly display her authentic self.” Interestingly, she was the best part of the movie, and it suited her well. In essence, M3GAN could be seen as an adult-oriented version of this scenario. #SUBSERVIENCE ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

“When this film initially released, people joked about Megan Fox, commenting that ‘she finally has a role where she can display her true self.’ However, she was the best part of the movie and it suited her well. This is similar to M3GAN but for adults, another user suggested it’s even better than M3GAN.

Here are two pieces of intriguing news: The second installment of M3GAN is scheduled for release in 2025, which means you can look forward to it; and regarding the possibility of a sequel, S.K. Dale, the director of Subservience, has expressed interest.

He shared with Comic Book that he’s keen on delving deeper into the narrative, particularly focusing on how the AI develops consciousness over time. Such topics truly pique his interest,” he said.
