The Pokémon Company just announced that Zeraora, a mythical legendary Pokémon, will gain a Mega Evolution in the upcoming “Mega Dimension” DLC for Pokémon Legends: Z-A. This new Mega Form was revealed in a short trailer and will be available when the DLC launches on December 10th. Other Mega Evolutions already confirmed for the DLC include two forms of Raichu, Mega Chimecho, and Mega Baxcalibur. The DLC seems to take place in a different version of Lumiose City, filled with incredibly powerful Pokémon.
Mega Zeraora revealed for Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s upcoming DLC, Mega Dimension
If you haven’t played all the Pokémon games recently, you might have missed Zeraora. It’s a rare and powerful Electric-type Mythical Pokémon, similar to Pokémon like Mew and Celebi, which were originally only available through special events – though that’s become less strict over time. The Pokémon Company recently shared details about Mega Zeraora on the Legends: Z-A website, confirming that it stays a pure Electric-type, without gaining a secondary type like Dark or Fighting.
Look, this new DLC has definitely caused some drama, and I get why. When they first announced it, Pokémon Legends: Z-A wasn’t even out yet! It felt kinda weird that they were already talking about paid DLC before we even got the full game. Then, when we saw gameplay a few weeks ago, we found out the Mega Dimension DLC would cost an extra $30 on top of the $70 base game (for the Switch 2 version). Honestly, it’s adding to the frustration a lot of us already felt when Mario Kart World launched on the Switch 2 for $80, and with everything else getting more expensive due to tariffs, it just feels like a lot to ask.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A is adding a huge number of Mega Evolutions! The game launches with 67 – the 26 new ones plus the 41 from older games. The upcoming Mega Dimension DLC will add 5 more, and even more are expected to be announced before release. It’s likely that players will also be able to unlock a few additional Mega forms by playing through the DLC. We’ll have to wait for further details to know the exact total.
