Mecha Break’s Next Open Beta Lets Players Try Its Extraction Mode For The First Time

It’s officially announced that the open beta for the multiplayer mecha shooter game, Mecha Break, will kick off on February 23rd. This beta is set to be the most extensive one, offering a broad glimpse into what players can anticipate from Mecha Break upon its release, featuring many of its key aspects.

The Global Storm open beta kicks off at 2 AM Pacific Time (5 AM Pacific Time on February 23), and its conclusion date remains unspecified. During this beta, the Global Storm will offer both the 6v6 Operation Verge and 3v3 Ace Arena modes that have been present in past Mecha Break betas. However, this is the first time it will support full cross-platform play between PC and console systems, and it will introduce Mashmak, a new PvPvE extraction mode within Mecha Break. In Mashmak, players team up to gather an element called Corite, which they can either work together to collect or compete against each other for.

Mashmak derives its name from the map where the game unfolds. A wicked group known as Theia’s Vanguard has seized control of the Mashmak Islands, along with a vast reserve of Corite. This sets the stage for players to delve into exploration, resource gathering, conflict, and ultimately extraction. From a gameplay standpoint, Mashmak distinguishes itself by allowing players to outfit their suits with unique equipment specific to this mode, enhancing their abilities.

In the early spring of 2025, Mecha Break will debut on PC and Xbox Series X|S, with additional platforms following later in the year. If you’re eager to get an early start, pre-loading for the PC version of the open beta is available on Steam starting from 2 AM PT / 5 AM ET on February 20.
