Grace, who’s popular for her acting in movies like Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, as well as her singing career, shared her plans with reporters on the red carpet before the event.

Okay, so I’m a huge Pokemon card collector, and I had this crazy idea! I’m trying to get permission to be the very first person to open a pack of Pokemon cards at the Oscars! I was showing off five booster packs I’ve got, hoping it’ll help convince them. It would be amazing!

She wasn’t just prepared with her bags; she also had card sleeves tucked into her pockets, ready to protect any valuable cards as soon as they were drawn.

She actually got a really good Pokémon card and showed it off on her Instagram stories. She and some other collectors nearby were lucky enough to pull a special, full-art Clefairy ex card, which can be worth anywhere from $75 to $150 depending on its condition.

If Grace were to sell the card, she could probably get a good price for it, particularly since it’s one of the first Pokemon packs opened at the Oscars.
