After a year, McDonald’s closed down three of their CosMc outlets, however, they are planning to open new stores that cater better to their clientele.
In December 2023, McDonald’s introduced a new concept by opening seven separate establishments across the United States. Six of these were located in Texas, while one was situated in Illinois.
CosMc’s boasts a bigger size compared to McDonald’s and offers unique menu items such as specialty coffees, tasty appetizers, delectable McFlurry desserts, and other delightful options.
The concept was developed around a character called CosMc, an orange alien disguised as an astronaut from McDonaldland.
13 months following its opening, McDonald’s decided to shut down three of its CosMc’s outlets in Texas. Upon reconsideration, they found that a smaller restaurant layout was more attractive to their clientele.
In a recent statement, McDonald’s explained that the compact store formats they use enable them to experiment with distinctive situations mirroring their clientele demographics.
McDonald’s to open two more CosMc’s after closing three
Although McDonald’s is closing down half of its CosMc locations, they are set to establish two additional restaurants in Texas with a compact design. In simpler terms, McDonald’s announced that they will be opening two new, smaller-sized restaurants in Texas.
Despite McDonald’s shutting down its outlets, the popularity of their spin-off store didn’t necessarily have anything to do with it. On the contrary, when this new store opened, there were countless curious customers eagerly waiting outside the bustling eatery for nearly five hours.
At CosMc in Illinois, there were so many individuals that a method reminiscent of military organization was required to manage the cars queuing up. Given McDonald’s status as a global leader among fast-food chains, this overflow of patrons was hardly unexpected.
People are creative when it comes to McDonald’s food, often recreating popular menu items like the Grimace Shake or McNugget substitutes at home. This creativity not only satisfies their cravings but also contributes to the ever-growing fandom of McDonald’s, day by day.
