Apple gave a first look at a new show on Wednesday at their 2026 Press Day. The series is created and run by David J. Rosen, and stars Tatiana Maslany (known for Orphan Black and The Monkey) and Jake Johnson (Mythic Quest, New Girl).
The first season of Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed will have 10 episodes, each lasting about 30 minutes. The first two episodes will be available on Apple TV worldwide starting May 20th, and then new episodes will be released every Wednesday until July 15th. Here’s what the show is about:
Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed centers on Paula, a recently divorced mother played by Maslany, who gets caught up in a thrilling and dangerous mystery involving blackmail, murder, and the world of youth soccer. While navigating a difficult custody battle and questioning who she is, Paula believes she’s seen a crime and starts her own investigation. This pursuit could expose a larger conspiracy, but it also offers her a chance to rebuild her life and find herself again.
Apple TV has announced some exciting new additions to the cast of Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed. Brandon Flynn, known for 13 Reasons Why, and Murray Bartlett, from The Last of Us and The White Lotus, will be joining the ensemble. They’ll be acting alongside previously announced stars Maslany and Johnson, as well as Jessy Hodges (Barry), Jon Michael Hill (Elementary), Charlie Hall (The Sex Lives of College Girls, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story), Kiarra Hamagami Goldberg (Charmed, Invasion), Nola Wallace (The Strangers: Chapter 2, The Strangers: Chapter 3), and Dolly De Leon (Nine Perfect Strangers, Triangle of Sadness).
Apple Studios and Counterpart Studios are creating the series Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed. David J. Rosen, known for Sugar and Hunters, is the writer, creator, and showrunner. David Gordon Green, who has worked on Nutcrackers, Mythic Quest, and The Righteous Gemstones, directs and also serves as an executive producer. Simon Kinberg and Audrey Chon of Genre Films, along with Bard Dorros of Anonymous Content, are also executive producers and helped develop the series, as part of their agreement with Apple TV.
Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed Promises Darkly Comedic Thrills on Apple TV
Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con in 2025, Tatiana Maslany shared that filming for their new project would begin in about a week. She described it as a really enjoyable thriller-comedy, adding that while it’s hard to explain the plot, it features a talented cast. When asked about expectations, she jokingly said, “Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed!” noting they were currently at a ‘moderate’ level of excitement.
I’m really excited about what Tatiana Maslany has coming up! She’s got a project called Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed planned for 2026, and this year we’re getting not one, but two films from her: a crime thriller called The Only Living Pickpocket in New York and a horror movie, The Young People, directed by Osgood Perkins. Everyone’s also wondering if and when she’ll be back in her previous, iconic role, but there’s no news on that front yet.
Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed premieres on Apple TV on May 20.
