From 2017 until his resignation in 2024, Matt Gaetz served as the U.S. representative for Florida’s first congressional district. However, Trump announced Gaetz as his nominee for attorney general on a certain date. On November 21st, Gaetz withdrew from contention for the AG position, following a report by The New York Times that federal investigators had uncovered evidence of payments connected to drug-fueled sex parties between 2017 and 2020, made by Gaetz and his associates. The House Ethics Committee was scheduled to discuss releasing a report on their investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct and illicit drug use against Gaetz on November 22nd; this discussion was postponed after Gaetz resigned from Congress. Gaetz has consistently denied these accusations.
In addition to his prime-time show on OAN, Gaetz will team up with Dan Ball, host of “Real America With Dan Ball,” to co-host a weekly podcast starting in January. As stated by OAN, this podcast aims to provide unique viewpoints and candid discussions that cater particularly to Millennials, late Gen Z, and early Gen Xers.
