As a hardcore League of Legends veteran who’s spent more hours and dollars in this game than I care to admit, the 2025 changes to the Battle Pass are like a breath of fresh air. The days of spending a small fortune on gacha rolls for skins are numbered, and it’s about time!
2025’s Battle Pass for League of Legends appears to be undergoing significant updates, promising players an increased number of skins at a significantly reduced cost.
Given the incorporation of the Sanctum and the growing popularity of gacha systems for acquiring high-quality League of Legends skins, longtime players have expressed disappointment over the potential cost, which can reach as high as $200, to obtain a new skin for their preferred champion.
Moreover, this ongoing trend doesn’t appear to be ending anytime quickly, but there’s hope for 2025 with the arrival of patch 15.1. In the League of Legends (LoL) world, a significant transformation similar to the Battle Pass will occur in 2025, and it’ll be less centered on loot. Instead, players who diligently work their way through this updated system can expect guaranteed rewards.
Instead of themed skins being directly available for purchase in the shop, a significant number of them will now be obtainable by progressing through the pass after earning points or rewards.
League of Legends Battle Pass gets huge 2025 changes
According to leaks, the Event Pass in League of Legends, as we know it now, will undergo changes and no longer operate in its current form. Instead, it’s expected to transition into a standard Battle Pass system, offering significantly improved rewards.
From now on, those who buy the pass can acquire the skins featured within the pass simply by finishing it. Additionally, there’s an extra skin available to claim in the free tier as well.

A total of 5 top-tier skins are included in the Battle Pass, priced identically to its previous cost at 1650 RP. By putting in effort and grinding, you can collect all five of these premium skins.
Typically, the Event Pass and the individual skins would be sold separately, with each skin priced at 1350 RP. However, by going through the pass, you’d find that these skins become more affordable if you were planning to purchase them anyway. This change makes it cost-effective to earn them through grinding.
It isn’t clear what’ll be on the full track of rewards just yet and whether or not we can expect to get the same loot orbs and grab bags out of the Battle Pass that we got from prior Event Passes, but the leaker claims that there will be 3 Ancient Sparks in there that can be used to roll for skins in The Sanctum.
As a gamer, I’m excited about the potential changes coming with the upcoming patch. While details might shift before the final release, it seems that this new Event Pass could offer a fantastic bang for the buck compared to past passes. Regardless of any price adjustments or reward alterations, the collection of skins appears to be an excellent value!
