During today’s PlayStation State of Play Japan, we got details about the next closed beta test for the upcoming fighting game, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. This game offers a unique Japanese take on the Marvel universe and was first shown during the June PlayStation State of Play. This new beta is the second test, following one held in early September. It will be available from December 5th to December 7th and includes Spider-Man and Ghost Rider as playable characters.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls reveals second closed beta weekend with two new characters
The developers of the new fighting game, Arc System Works, listened to feedback from the first closed beta test. The initial test in September had limited play times, with only four sessions available over the weekend. While there was a reason for this schedule, players didn’t love it. The next closed beta in December will be different – players will have uninterrupted access all weekend long, letting them play whenever they want.
The next beta test will give players a first look at two popular Marvel heroes. While previous tests included six of the eight revealed characters, this December’s test will let players try out Spider-Man and Ghost Rider. During a recent presentation, the developers shared why they chose Robbie Reyes as the version of Ghost Rider featured in the game, explaining they wanted a younger Ghost Rider for story reasons, though they couldn’t share details just yet. This is the first indication of a narrative focus for the game, which is promising for players.
The next beta version of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls will feature two new characters and two new maps: X Mansion, packed with secrets and surprises, and the iconic Savage Land. While a release date hasn’t been announced yet, the game looks fantastic and continues to impress with new content. Players who sign up can get an early look through the closed beta.
