Everything is falling apart in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the newest trailer for Avengers: Doomsday shows that no one is safe. The trailer, released on January 13, 2026, focuses on the kingdoms of Wakanda and Talokan, as well as the Fantastic Four. Earlier previews highlighted heroes like Captain America and Thor, but this latest look introduces the Fantastic Four’s arrival on Earth-616.
The trailer begins with a moving voiceover from Shuri, who has stepped into her role as the Black Panther. She reflects on loss and a leader’s responsibility to prepare their people for what comes next, accompanied by striking images of Talokan – now a barren, desert landscape. We then see the return of Mabel Cadena as Namora, looking determined and ready for war in her traditional Talokanil attire.
The reappearance of Mabel Cadena as Namora is surprising, as she wasn’t originally listed among the returning cast members announced in March 2025. While stars like Tenoch Huerta (Namor), Letitia Wright (Shuri), and Winston Duke (M’Baku) were confirmed at that time, Cadena’s role was kept secret until the latest trailer was released.
The video also shows Namor, Namora’s cousin and the king of Talokan, looking defeated while sitting on a throne in an empty, dry space – a striking image of a ruler who has lost it all. He’s also sporting a new look: a black, high-collared suit, which is more in line with how he appears in the comic books. With Namor and Namora appearing in the trailer, we’ve now seen at least five mutants who will be in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film.
Every Mutant We’ve Seen in Avengers: Doomsday So Far
Cyclops

Cyclops was a highlight of the latest trailer, which featured returning X-Men characters from the previous Fox films. James Marsden is back as Scott Summers, and this time he’s wearing the classic blue and yellow costume from the comics. The trailer shows him overcome with rage, collapsing to his knees while the X-Mansion burns, powerfully illustrating the emotional toll of the conflict he’s involved in.
The most exciting part of his scene is when he removes his visor and fires a huge red energy beam that takes over the screen. Behind him, you can see the massive metal legs of Sentinels, making it clear the X-Men are facing a catastrophic threat. Fans have waited years to see Marsden back in his full costume, and this moment delivers.
Professor X

The third trailer featured Professor X, with Patrick Stewart reprising his role as Charles Xavier, the thoughtful and powerful telepathic leader of the X-Men. The scene is brief but impactful, showing Xavier amidst the wreckage of his school for gifted youngsters. The trailer slowly reveals the destroyed X-Mansion, with shots of empty classrooms and burned walls. It then focuses on Xavier’s wheelchair and a chessboard, where a single black piece is mysteriously floating – a quiet hint at his psychic powers.
Charles is wearing a dark jacket with the iconic X-Men logo displayed on the front. The jacket’s design, inspired by the comics, gives him a look of both strength and preparedness for what’s coming.
Magneto

Ian McKellen returns as Magneto, sharing a deeply moving scene with Professor X. The clip shows the older, white-haired Magneto amidst ruins with Charles Xavier, and the two longtime friends are seen holding hands. Magneto delivers a haunting line about the inevitability of death, offering a rare look at a more vulnerable Erik Lehnsherr who appears to have come to terms with the world’s end.
Namora

Namora first appeared in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as a key leader and general in Namor’s army, representing the Talokan people. Initially, she strongly advocated for protecting Talokan by taking a firm stance against the outside world. Though she opposed Shuri and the Dora Milaje in her first appearance, she’s now poised to ally with Wakanda following the peace agreement reached at the end of Wakanda Forever.
Her appearance in Avengers: Doomsday is a major turning point in her story, changing her from a regional villain to a hero who protects the entire world. The trailer offers a quick glimpse of her leading a team of Tolakan fighters into battle.
Namor

Tenoch Huerta is back as Namor, and his new look is getting a lot of attention from comic book fans. He’s traded in some of his traditional Mayan-inspired clothing for a modern, black suit with a signature high collar that fans will recognize from older comics. This updated style reflects Namor’s growth as a character – he’s moved from being a purely angry villain to a thoughtful leader who’s willing to work with others to save the world.
Recent scenes show Namor and Shuri’s Black Panther cooperating, suggesting their earlier temporary peace has become a strong military alliance.
Other Mutants Confirmed To Appear in Doomsday
Although we’ve seen five mutants in trailers so far, the full team is much bigger. Marvel has confirmed that Beast (Kelsey Grammer), Gambit (Channing Tatum), Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming), and Mystique (Rebecca Romijn) will also be appearing. These characters are expected to be key members of the X-Men as the multiverse starts to break apart. The latest trailer showed just how dangerous Doctor Doom is to mutants, meaning the X-Men will need all the help they can get to defeat him.
Rumors are swirling about Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) potentially joining the fight as unpredictable heroes. Some also believe Jean Grey might return later in the movie with powerful cosmic abilities to help defeat Doom. With five mutants already confirmed and more expected, Avengers: Doomsday marks the official start of the X-Men’s story within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
