A lesser-known hero from the Marvel Cinematic Universe might get another chance thanks to a recent decision by Marvel Studios. As the MCU’s story grows, several characters introduced in recent years are hoping for a return. Many of these characters first appeared on Disney+ shows, and fans are eager to find out how their stories will continue outside of the movies.
As a huge Marvel fan, I was thrilled to hear that Wonder Man is officially getting a second season on Disney+! It’s a big deal because it’s only the third Marvel Television series on Disney+ to get renewed after one season. Loki was the first back in 2021, and Daredevil: Born Again is next – they’ve even renewed that for a third season already! It’s great to see Marvel continuing to expand its stories on the streaming platform.
Many viewers were surprised when Wonder Man was renewed for a second season, as it was originally intended to be a one-season show. This unexpected renewal might encourage similar decisions for other shows designed as limited series, such as 2022’s Moon Knight, potentially leading to them being extended with additional seasons.

Marvel Studios used to clearly state how many seasons a show would have from the beginning – they even did this for shows like WandaVision which were part of a larger story. Now, with the approach they’re taking with Wonder Man, it’s possible Marvel might decide to continue Moon Knight for another season, as well as shows featuring characters like She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, and Ironheart.
The Moon Knight series concluded with a major cliffhanger. After Arthur Harrow, played by Ethan Hawke, was taken away in a limousine, it was revealed that the Moon god Khonshu was inside. Then, the window rolled down, showing another of Marc Spector’s personalities, Jake Lockley (played by Oscar Isaac), who appeared to kill both Harrow and the goddess Ammit.
Currently, Disney+ hasn’t announced whether Moon Knight will return for a second season, but the first season is available to stream. Oscar Isaac’s only other appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is in the animated series What If…?, where he voiced the character of Moon Knight.
Where Could Moon Knight Season 2 Go?

A major focus of Moon Knight Season 2 will likely be how Jake Lockley interacts with Marc Spector and Steven Knight as a distinct personality. Writer Jeremy Slater has indicated this version of Jake differs from the comics, and that the creative team has a lot of room to develop his story further after the first season.
Currently, Marc and Steven have no idea Jake is even a part of their consciousness, and he appears to be more of a dangerous personality. Despite Marc’s attempt to separate from Khonshu at the end of last season, the two remain strongly linked.
Besides the mystery surrounding Jake Lockley, Marc Spector has many potential enemies who could appear in upcoming seasons, including the often-mentioned Raoul Bushman. Fans are also hoping to see how Marc Spector might connect with the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe and if he’ll join forces with other heroes, similar to his appearance in the What If…? series.
Many fans are hoping to see Moon Knight return, as it’s been nearly four years since the show first aired.
