Marvel Studios Announces Historic Hulu Release for New MCU Show

Marvel Studios has announced that its latest series will be available on Hulu, coinciding with its second season premiere on Disney+. While most of Marvel’s live-action shows have previously been exclusive to Disney+, they’ve begun to expand distribution, starting with Secret Invasion and then Echo. Echo was the first show to launch on both platforms at the same time, but the release of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 is different – it will become available on Hulu after its initial run on Disney+.

For the first time, a Disney+ Marvel series, Secret Invasion, was also available to stream on Hulu. Before the final episode aired on Disney+, the first three episodes of Secret Invasion were available on Hulu for a limited time, from July 21st to August 17th, 2023.

The new Marvel series, Wonder Man, is now available to stream on Hulu, becoming the ninth Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) show to be released on the platform.

The new Marvel series, Daredevil: Born Again, began streaming on Disney+ on March 4, 2025. The nine-episode season showed how Wilson Fisk became Mayor of New York and followed Matt Murdock as he dealt with the death of his close friend, Foggy Nelson. Although the first season didn’t reach the top 10 most-watched original streaming shows of 2025, according to Nielsen, it was still considered a success and generated a lot of excitement for Season 2, with critics giving it positive reviews.

Marvel Studios is releasing the first season of Daredevil: Born Again on Hulu for a limited time. This is the first instance of a Marvel Studios series having a season stream on Hulu in the U.S. to build excitement for a new season. While the exact streaming window isn’t known, it’s expected that Season 1 will be removed from Hulu shortly after the Season 2 finale airs on May 5, and possibly even before then.

Following the successful launch of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 on Disney+, the series is gaining attention. The first episode introduces Daredevil’s conflict with Mayor Fisk and his control over New York City.

Marvel Studios is working on many TV shows, and some might appear on Hulu. If a series needs extra visibility, Marvel could release it on both Hulu and Disney+, similar to what they did with the show Echo.

Every Upcoming MCU Show Ranked By Its Anticipated Popularity

6. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Seasons 2 & 3

The second season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will premiere on Disney+ in Fall 2026. This season will follow Peter Parker’s adventures in a different universe where Norman Osborn guides him, rather than Tony Stark as seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Because the Marvel animated series is designed for families, it’s probably not a good fit for Hulu. However, people are still really looking forward to seeing it released, especially since the first season received a very positive 97% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

Marvel Animation is excited about Season 2 of Your Friendly Neighborhood, especially because it will introduce Gwen Stacy to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and bring back popular villains like Doctor Octopus, Scorpion, and Chameleon.

5. Marvel Zombies Season 2

A recent report in October 2025 indicated that Marvel Studios is planning a second season of Marvel Zombies. This is welcome news for fans, particularly since the first season concluded with a significant cliffhanger, ending with Zombie Scarlet Witch seemingly victorious.

Although the Marvel Zombies’ TV-MA rating points towards a release on Hulu, it’s probably more likely to appear on Disney+. This is because most Marvel animated content typically premieres on Disney+ as the main platform for Marvel Animation.

4. X-Men ’97 Season 2

Season 2 of X-Men ’97 will arrive on Disney+ in Summer 2026. The new season will see the X-Men team separated and lost in different time periods as they battle a powerful new villain, Apocalypse.

It’s unlikely that Season 2 of X-Men ’97 will stream on Hulu. Because the show is animated and doesn’t contain mature themes, it will probably stay on Disney+, just like Season 1. This is different from the release of Daredevil: Born Again on Hulu, which seems to be a special, one-time event for Marvel Studios.

3. Wonder Man Season 2

The way Hulu released Season 1 of Wonder Man suggests Season 2 might also be available for a limited time only. This fits a growing trend for Marvel’s live-action shows. It’s likely Hulu will continue to offer new seasons shortly after they first appear, creating excitement and encouraging viewers to watch the shows as part of the larger MCU.

Like Echo, Secret Invasion, and the first season of Daredevil: Born Again, Wonder Man is now available to stream. However, Season 1 of Wonder Man will only be on Hulu until June 10th.

2. Daredevil: Born Again Season 3

Now that Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again is streaming on Hulu after its initial release on Disney+, it’s likely Season 3 will also be released this way. This fits with Marvel Studios’ changing strategy for how it releases its live-action shows.

For a while, plans for Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 were put on hold as fans were still discussing Season 2. However, some new information has recently come to light, including Charlie Cox confirming Matt Murdock will be involved in the upcoming season and the return of at least nine characters from the Born Again storyline.

1. VisionQuest

Fans are especially excited for VisionQuest because it picks up Vision’s story after the events of WandaVision. There’s also a lot of speculation that the project will explain what happened to Scarlet Witch following the ending of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, or at least give us some clues.

Although VisionQuest is expected to stream on Disney+, it might follow the release pattern of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1, becoming available on Hulu for a short time immediately after it premieres on Disney+.
