The creators of Marvel Rivals have made public the statistics for selection (pick rate) and success (win rate) for all roles, and the information shows which top characters dominate each classification.
Despite just beginning its life, Marvel Rivals, the latest hero shooter, has managed to draw in over 50 million players so far. Predictably, a dominant strategy, or meta, has emerged prior to the Season 1 update. However, it’s worth questioning which heroes are currently dominating each of the three roles?
Before the Season 1 updates, which include both buffs and nerfs, our internal tier list ranks every hero based on their current effectiveness. Now, official statistics on pick rate and win rate for each hero have been disclosed, providing us with a clear picture of who’s dominating the battlefield. In other words, we now know which heroes are leading the charge in terms of victories.

Top Marvel Rivals picks with highest Win Rates
Duelist
Currently, six Duelists have a victory rate exceeding 50%, and they include Hela, Magik, Black Panther, Psylocke, Namor, and Spider-Man. These characters are spearheading the competition at present.
In other words, despite the fact that Hela’s success rate is only 12.86%, you are still likely to come out on top more times than not if you choose to play with these heroes.
Standouts like Wolverine, Hawkeye, and Star-Lord haven’t quite reached a significant victory milestone yet, but they’re not terribly far off. Currently, Black Widow, who has the lowest victory rate in the Duelist role, is due for several key enhancements in the Season 1 update, suggesting that her selection and win percentage will likely increase in the coming weeks.
Strategist
Among current strategists, Mantis, Loki, Adam Warlock, and Rocket Raccoon are among the top four most triumphant characters. Despite the role having fewer possibilities compared to Duelist and Vanguard, the statistics aren’t significantly imbalanced. Each hero’s win rate falls within the range of 44% to 55%.
Regardless of his internet fame and high online popularity, Jeff the Land Shark has the poorest victory record among all contenders, spanning both Quickplay and Competitive modes.
In Season 1, the Invisible Woman joins the team as a Strategist, and fans are already smitten with this classic character. It’s likely that her selection frequency (pick rate) will increase significantly at first. However, whether her victory rate (win rate) will follow suit is yet to be determined.
Vanguard
Completing the team lineup is Vanguard, featuring Peni Parker, Thor, Hulk, and Doctor Strange as the top performers in their respective categories initially. The competition at the summit is intense, as only a 3% difference separates these four heroes. Consequently, any decision you make regarding your Competitive games would be a strong one.
It might be surprising to learn that even though Venom is picked third most often among Vanguards in competitive play, he still has the poorest win rate of any hero when it comes to his lane.
