Marvel Rivals community wants one high rank feature available across the board

Players of Marvel Rivals are imploring developers to incorporate a specific competitive element, which is currently limited to higher rankings.

Just as Marvel Rivals thrives in its competitive scene, much like other shooting games, there are frustrating aspects players may encounter which they can’t influence – for instance, being paired with cheaters, players stubbornly sticking to one role and refusing to adapt, or a team stacked with Damage Per Second (DPS) characters.

Absolutely, it’s much more aggravating when such incidents occur during ranked matches. And it’s widely known that some players are exploiting specific heroes to overwhelm the game lobby, making it simpler for them to climb up the ranks.

At higher levels of play, you can exclude certain characters (heroes) that cause issues for you; however, this option is not available at lower rankings. Currently, players are requesting developers to extend this feature to all player levels in a Reddit discussion.

Marvel Rivals players want hero bans to be added in lower ranks as well

The conversation began with a user who acknowledged their lack of skill in the game but still expressed a desire to emerge victorious. “I had an awful experience playing against Hawkeye and Hela,” they lamented, before bringing up the point that it’s disheartening when only higher-ranked players get to utilize hero bans.

They proposed an additional point: Since all players begin at the bronze level, a ‘smurf’ can simply create a new account. By choosing Hawkeye or Hela, they can dominate the lobby.” Unsurprisingly, many others have echoed this idea in the comments, advocating for such a change.

One user expressed that bans ought to be uniformly implemented, not just concerning Hawkeye and Hela. They found it quite disconcerting to find themselves in Diamond, end up in a Platinum lobby, and mysteriously lose their ban privileges. In their opinion, the overall design seems rather absurd.

Afterward, another user stated that the feature is essential since players intentionally join queues with a dummy account specifically for these lobbies, enabling them to play as Hawkeye in ranked matches. Consequently, this makes the process of advancing in rank an unpleasant experience for others.

In another instance, a user suggested that bans should apply across all rank levels, enabling players from lower skill tiers to gradually adapt and prepare for the challenges of higher skill tiers.

Additionally, a different user pointed out that this system encourages players to try various characters since there’s a chance their preferred hero might be temporarily unavailable.

It’s uncertain at this point whether the developers will adjust hero bans in competitive play, but currently, it’s only available to players of Diamond rank or higher. We’ll have to wait and see if this feature becomes accessible for players of all skill levels in the future.
