Spider-Man’s experience is officially making its way to Marvel Comics.
According to AIPT Comics, Marvel is releasing a new series of variant covers this spring for 20 different comic book titles. The artwork on these covers will be based on the popular Marvel’s Spider-Man set originally created for the Magic: The Gathering card game last year. Both regular and virgin versions of the covers will be available.

Spider-Man and Magic: The Gathering Have Crossed Over Before
The release of Marvel’s Spider-Man on September 26, 2025 was met with mixed reactions from fans. It was the second set in the Universes Beyond series to be released following Final Fantasy, which had been an incredibly popular Magic: The Gathering set, earning over $200 million in just 24 hours.
As a big fan of these promotional crossovers, I was pretty disappointed with the Marvel’s Spider-Man set. It just didn’t hit the mark like the Final Fantasy set did before it. A lot of Magic: The Gathering players, myself included, thought it was a bit weak and didn’t offer much excitement. Plus, it was frustrating that you couldn’t even redeem the cards online through Magic: The Gathering Online.
Even though the Marvel’s Spider-Man set didn’t perform as well as hoped, Magic: The Gathering is already preparing for many new ‘Universes Beyond’ releases in 2026. In fact, players are getting a first look this weekend with pre-release events and tournaments happening at game stores worldwide.
Marvel’s Magic: The Gathering variants will be available for purchase in May 2026.
