Marvel Promises WandaVision Will Get A Sequel, But With A Twist

Everyone is anxiously wondering what will happen to Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch. It seemed like she destroyed the Dark Hold and sacrificed herself to do so in multiple realities at the end of *Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness*. That movie continued the story that began with *WandaVision* on Disney+, specifically the events that took place in Westview.

So, I just finished watching *Agatha All Along*, and honestly, it got me thinking. Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Scarlet Witch, has been really wanting to bring the character back for the next big *Avengers* movies – *Doomsday* and *Secret Wars*. It makes you wonder… will we actually get a Season 2 of *WandaVision*? The answer seems to be… possibly? It’s not a definite yes, but there’s definitely a chance!

Terry Matalas, the showrunner, confirmed that a second season related to Westview *is* happening, but it won’t be called *WandaVision*. Instead, the upcoming *Vision Quest* series will continue the story of the acclaimed show starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany as the android Vision.

Matalas enthusiastically shared that *WandaVision* is a personal favorite, explaining he’s watched it three times, which speaks to its quality. He then revealed that *Vision Quest* will continue the story begun in *WandaVision*, directly building upon the events and magic of Westview.

This Seems Kinda … Strange?

Some people rightly believe that *Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness* served as a more fitting sequel to *WandaVision*. And they have a good argument. However, for Glen Matalas and other creators involved with the *WandaVision* storyline and the characters of Scarlet Witch and Vision, there was a crucial element missing from the scenes where Scarlet Witch was causing chaos for Doctor Strange and America Chavez.

Vision spent the entire recent Marvel movie feeling like he was stuck giving a speech with nowhere to go. Interestingly, while Wanda desperately searched the multiverse for a reality where her sons lived, she never looked for Vision – the man she loved and fought so fiercely for against Thanos. This raises the big question of why she didn’t, and the upcoming Vision Quest series, hinted at by creator Jac Schaeffer, seems poised to answer it.

WandaVision is currently streaming on Disney+, and Vision Quest is scheduled for release in 2026.
