As a long-time fan, I’ve always noticed how the artwork in this episode felt both familiar and fresh compared to the original Marvel/Sunbow cartoon. That’s really down to the amazing artists who worked on it – people like Vincenzo Trippetti, David Russell, Gregg Davidson, and especially Peter Chung. Chung really went on to do incredible things! He developed such a unique and quirky style, and you can see hints of it here. He became a huge name in animation during the 90s, most famously with shows like Rugrats and the totally mind-bending Aeon Flux on MTV’s Liquid Television. It’s so cool to see where these artists’ careers went!

You can now see a detailed look at how “The Immobilizer” episode was made on the Sunbow and Marvel Script/Storyboard site – it’s a fantastic resource for fans of the original Transformers series. The episode has become very popular with collectors, even inspiring a Wheeljack toy that included a miniature version of the Immobilizer itself.
