The trailer for Avengers: Doomsday shows that Love, the daughter of Gorr the God Butcher and now adopted by Thor, will be back in the 2026 Marvel film. She plays a significant role, and footage reveals Hemsworth’s Thor praying to his father, Odin, for safety before facing what appears to be a battle against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.
Thor is determined to return home and continue building a life with Love, protecting her and enjoying their time together. This sets up an emotional core for the new movie, and his updated appearance – a battle-ready look familiar to fans – includes a significant change: he’s traded his long blonde hair for a shorter, darker style.
As a big Marvel fan, I noticed Thor’s rocking a familiar look in the new trailer – it’s that sleeveless outfit he wore for most of Avengers: Infinity War. And it looks like he’s sticking with Stormbreaker this time around, instead of bringing back Mjölnir. Definitely excited to see him wielding that axe again!
