The latest Spider-Man film is pulling in characters from the comics, including Black Cat, who has a fresh new look and a significant part to play. While Black Cat, also known as Felicia Hardy, hasn’t had a chance to truly stand out in Spider-Man’s live-action movies yet, Felicity Jones’ portrayal in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 came the closest to capturing the character’s essence.
Although plans for a third Spider-Man movie starring Andrew Garfield were scrapped, there’s still a chance the storyline from Spider-Man: Brand New Day could happen. This story would start a fresh direction for Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and could introduce the character Black Cat. If you’re curious about how Spider-Man and Black Cat might interact, Marvel’s ongoing Spider-Man comic series offers a preview.
Marvel Has Revealed What Spidey And His Amazing Friends Season 4’s Black Cat Looks Like
While we wait for Tom Holland to return as Spider-Man in a live-action movie, fans can enjoy the animated series Spidey and his Amazing Friends. It’s a great show for the whole family, and new episodes are currently available on Disney+, featuring appearances by many popular Marvel characters.
I’ve always been captivated by Black Cat, or Felicia Hardy! Her look is just so iconic. She almost always wears a sleek, mostly black suit, and you can’t miss the cat design – it’s her signature. It’s usually accented with bold yellow details. And it’s the little things that really stand out – the white gloves and boots with those cool black tips, her striking white hair, and that amazing high collar that looks like fur. Plus, the black mask completes the whole mysterious vibe!
Black Cat is typically portrayed as a villain in the Spider-Man stories. Though she’s often an anti-hero in comics, animated series, and video games, she’s known for stealing. In the latest Spider-Man adventure, she attempts to steal a treasure chest but is thwarted by Spider-Man and Miles Morales (Spin).
How Spidey And His Amazing Friends Season 4’s Black Cat Compares To Other Versions Of The Marvel Anti-Hero?
Since we don’t have a real-life Black Cat costume to compare the animated version from Spidey and his Amazing Friends to, we’re looking at the comics and the Marvel’s Spider-Man PlayStation game for the closest comparisons. Like the game, the animated series’ Black Cat design feels updated, using lines to add detail and break up the solid black color.
The video game version of Black Cat differs from the cartoon by using white outlines instead of yellow. Interestingly, the four-season Spider-Man animated series includes a classic detail – a fur-like collar – that isn’t always present in the comics. A black mask without goggles is a frequent design choice for the character in various adaptations. With Spider-Man appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we might finally see a version of Black Cat established within that franchise, similar to how the show portrayed her.
