The idea is that because of scheduling conflicts, Sebastian Stan can’t be in both Marvel and DC films simultaneously. Therefore, his Marvel character, Bucky, will likely die in a future Avengers movie, allowing him to take on roles in DC projects – a playful nickname for which is ‘Bat-Stan’.
Okay, so I’ve been seeing this crazy theory online. Apparently, because Sebastian Stan is rumored to be in The Batman Part 2, fans are convinced my boy Bucky is a goner in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie. One person put it like, you gotta sacrifice Bucky to free up Sebastian Stan for Batman – it’s a tough trade, but they think it makes sense! It’s wild to think about, honestly.
Some believe the actor will have a more substantial role and a better opportunity to showcase their talent in the DC project. The idea is that they’ll finish their time as Bucky, who sacrifices himself to save Steve Rogers, and immediately move on to a superhero film where they can really shine.

If DC ultimately leads to the Winter Soldier’s demise, many dedicated fans—known as ‘Stans’—are expressing considerable frustration and anger.
A fan posted under a bittersweet meme, expressing their excitement about Sebastian Stan joining the cast of ‘The Batman II’ while also acknowledging that his role likely confirms the death of his character, Bucky, in ‘Doomsday’.
