The upcoming Avengers: Doomsday event won’t get its own dedicated video game, unlike earlier Marvel movies like Iron Man and Captain America: The First Avenger which had tie-in games released alongside them. While those games were often underwhelming, fans hoping for a brand-new Doomsday game will be disappointed. However, Marvel already has several existing games that will acknowledge and celebrate the event.
Throughout the year, Marvel Rivals will be honoring the Avengers movies, including a special focus on the storyline leading up to Doomsday. NetEase Games announced on X that they’ll be releasing new in-game content every month, with events planned for April, June, August, October, and December to coincide with each of the five films. They promise a major content drop this December with the release of Avengers 5 in theaters.
“The Path to Doomsday begins!
Get ready for exciting new ways to play ‘Marvel Rivals’! Starting in April and continuing through October, we’ll be releasing game modes and events inspired by the epic stories of The Infinity Saga. Check out the full plan to see what’s on the horizon.
This December, we’re launching a major update with new in-game content to coincide with the release of the Marvel Studios’ film, ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.

Rivals revealed its Marvel Universe crossover event will begin in April with a special, temporary player-versus-player mode. In this mode, one player controls Loki and battles against a team of six heroes, mirroring a famous scene from The Avengers. Loki will be significantly strengthened with a brand new set of abilities, and the hero team can win by summoning the Hulk.
“The God of Mischief rules the battlefield!
This April, a special, temporary game mode will be available to celebrate the release of the new Avengers movie from Marvel Studios.
This player-versus-player mode is unique because one player controls Loki while the other six players each control a different hero.
Loki now has a completely updated set of powers, letting him use trickery, illusions, and the strength of the Infinity Stones to make enemies fight each other. Players controlling other heroes can even call in Hulk for help, just like in the movie, if they meet certain requirements to achieve victory!
Master deception, mind-control, and make the battlefield your playground.”
With the metallic villain already available as a playable character, fans can probably anticipate a similar experience with Avengers: Age of Ultron in June. What’s next for Infinity War, Endgame, and Doomsday is currently unknown, as neither Thanos nor Doctor Doom are playable right now, though that might change later this year.

As a long-time follower of mobile gaming, I was genuinely surprised and impressed by what Marvel Snap has planned. They’ve just unveiled their entire seasonal calendar for 2026, and it’s packed with content tied into major MCU events! We’re talking seasons themed around Spider-Man: Brand New Day in July and Avengers: Doomsday in December – it seems like they’re really leaning into integrating the cinematic universe with gameplay, and honestly, it’s a smart move that should keep players engaged for quite a while.
The developer announced that the new season will include the typical features fans expect: a season pass, fresh cards, special limited-time game modes, and unique card designs.

With Marvel Snap on Android and iOS, and Marvel Rivals coming to PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4, plus both games being free-to-play, there’s a *Avengers: Doomsdayinspired experience for all gamers in 2026.
More Avengers: Doomsday Video Game Events Are Likely Coming
I’m really excited about the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie, and it’s awesome that Marvel Snap and Marvel Rivals are already planning events around it! It got me thinking, though – Marvel Future Fight usually does something special for new MCU releases, like new character skins and in-game events. So, I’d be really surprised if they didn’t join in on the fun too. I’m hoping we’ll see crossovers across all my favorite Marvel games!
The fighting game Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is launching on PlayStation 5 and PC in August. Unlike Rivals, this game offers a unique way to battle with iconic Marvel heroes and villains. Players will be able to use characters like Doctor Doom and Captain America, and may even see their costumes reimagined with a Japanese anime style in Tokon.
This September, Insomniac Games, the studio behind the Spider-Man games, will release Wolverine. The game is likely to include different costumes based on Wolverine’s past, potentially including outfits from his appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). There’s even a chance it could connect to his rumored secret return in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie.
Although Insomniac Games could add more suits inspired by the Doomsday comic to Spider-Man 2, it looks like Tobey Maguire will be the only Spider-Man appearing in the upcoming Avengers game. He’s already included with his classic suit.
Despite the lack of recent news, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is still expected to launch later this year. The game will send Captain America (Steve Rogers) and Black Panther (Azzuri) on an adventure set during World War II. While Skydance New Media hasn’t officially announced it, the game might include character skins, and one possibility is a ‘Doomsday’ outfit for Captain America.
