Marlon Wayans to Guest Star on ‘Poppa’s House’ Opposite Damon Wayans, Damon Wayans Jr.

As a seasoned movie critic with a penchant for comedy and a soft spot for familial bonds, I find myself eagerly anticipating Marlon Wayans‘ guest appearance on “Poppa’s House.” The Wayans clan has always been a delightful ensemble to watch, their chemistry undeniable and their comedic timing impeccable.

Marlon Wayans will be joining his brother Damon Wayans and his nephew, Damon Wayans Jr., in the upcoming CBS comedy show called “Poppa’s House”.)

The Wayans family has a rich tradition of collaborating in various projects, spanning films and TV shows. This production also brings Marlon together again with Essence Atkins, his co-star from “Poppa’s House,” who previously shared the screen with him for two seasons on the NBC sitcom “Marlon.

Poppa’s House” made its premiere on CBS in October. As described by the series, Damon Wayans plays the role of a renowned talk radio host named Poppa, who is happily divorced. His perspective is tested both at work, where a new female co-host (Atkins) joins the team, and at home as he continues to guide his adult son (Damon Wayans Jr.), an imaginative individual striving to follow his dreams while balancing responsibilities as a father and husband.

In February 2025, Marlon takes on the role of Melvin – Poppa’s brother with a questionable past. He shows up with an intriguing business proposal. While Poppa advises caution, Ivy (Atkins) and Junior are hopeful that he has turned over a new leaf.

It was recently reported that Marlon will reunite with his brothers Shawn and Kennen Ivory Wayans on a new installment of the “Scary Movie” franchise. Marlon is also known for his roles in films like “White Chicks,” “Little Man,” and “Don’t Be a Menace.” He will also appear in the Justin Topping psychological sports thriller “Him,” due out in September 2025. He is currently on his “Wild Child” standup tour.

He is repped by 3 Arts Entertainment, UTA, and Yorn, Levine, Barnes.

Apart from Tetona Jackson, “Poppa’s House” also features her as one of its stars. In fact, this series was given a full season order back in November. The production is overseen by executive producers such as Dean Lorey, Damon Wayans, and Damon Wayans Jr. Interestingly, CBS Studios, where Damon Wayans Jr. and his Two Shakes Entertainment label have an initial look deal, are the ones responsible for producing this series.
