As a cinephile who has spent countless hours immersed in the rich and diverse tapestry of Indian cinema, I can confidently say that this upcoming Malayalam-language feature from KVN Productions and Thespian Films is one to watch.
Having grown up watching the likes of “Manjummel Boys” and “Aavesham,” two of 2024’s biggest Indian hits, I am beyond excited about this collaboration between Chidambaram and Jithu Madhavan. The fact that they have managed to bring together such a talented team, including cinematographer Shyju Khaled, composer Sushin Shyam, and editor Vivek Harshan, is a testament to the quality of the project.
The film’s entry into Malayalam marks KVN Productions’ expansion into new territories, which I believe will only add to their reputation for producing high-quality cinema across languages. With Venkat K. Narayana at the helm and Shailaja Desai Fenn shepherding the project, I am confident that this film will live up to the expectations set by its talented team.
Chidambaram’s passion for storytelling is evident in his work, and I can’t wait to see what he brings to life with such a stellar team behind him. Writer Jithu Madhavan’s enthusiasm for the script and the support of this talented group makes me optimistic that we are in store for something truly special.
In terms of humor, I would add that I can only hope that this collaboration results in a film that is as entertaining as it is moving – perhaps even with a dash of the wit and charm that Indian cinema is known for!
In a collaborative effort, KVN Productions and Thespian Films are joining forces on an unnamed Malayalam film project, reuniting the talents of “Manjummel Boys” director Chidambaram with “Aavesham” scriptwriter Jithu Madhavan.
In 2024, the Malayalam movies “Manjummel Boys” and “Aavesham” were some of India’s biggest hits. As for the upcoming project, its title and genre are still under wraps at this time.
The project brings together essential technical professionals such as cinematographer Shyju Khaled, musician Sushin Shyam, and video editor Vivek Harshan.
The movie will be part of KVN’s 2025 lineup, which also features projects like “KD” in Kannada, “Toxic – A Fairytale for Grown Ups” directed by Geethu Mohandas, a collaboration with Yash from “K.G.F.”, under his Monster Mind Creations, the 69th film of veteran Tamil actor Vijay, tentatively titled “Thalapathy 69”, before he fully commits to politics, and a thriller in Hindi directed by Priyadarshan. This marks KVN’s debut in Malayalam, as the production house expands its presence across India.
Venkat K. Narayana, founder of KVN Productions, expressed that our goal has always been to reshape cinema in various languages. Now, we’re stepping into Malayalam with the same level of grandeur and quality audiences have come to anticipate from us. Given the outstanding talent leading this project, we’re optimistic about its success,” said Venkat K. Narayana.
As the eager movie reviewer that I am, I’m absolutely ecstatic to join forces with a crew equally enamored by the art of storytelling. This upcoming collaboration promises to be a delight, and I can hardly contain my excitement as I prepare to breathe life into this captivating vision.
Madhavan shared: “This story holds a special place for me, and working alongside this talented group, I’m confident we’ll create something worthwhile.
The project will be shepherded by KVN’s Narayana and Thespian Films’ Shailaja Desai Fenn.
