A man in North Carolina is in trouble with the law after allegedly breaking into a Little Caesars restaurant twice. Police say he didn’t just break in – he actually started making and selling pizzas to customers, pretending the store was open for business.
Kinston police say someone broke into a Little Caesars restaurant in Kinston, North Carolina, after a large snowstorm over the weekend. Officers were called to the scene when the business reported the break-in.
Police have identified the suspect as 41-year-old Jonathon Hackett, who used to work at the store. According to investigators, Hackett broke into the building and then made and sold pizzas to customers, who didn’t realize anything was amiss. He then kept the money for himself.

Police stated Hackett broke into the restaurant a second time. This time, employees were present and tried to prevent him from entering, leading to a physical fight where Hackett was hurt.
Police say he was taken to the hospital for medical attention and then arrested once he was discharged. Authorities haven’t revealed details about the initial incident, such as how many pizzas were produced or sold, or the amount of money Hackett is suspected of taking.
Hackett is now charged with multiple crimes, including breaking into buildings, stealing property under false pretenses, and violating a city curfew.
Kinston Police say the second burglary was directly responsible for Hackett’s arrest, and the investigation is still ongoing. Thankfully, no employees were seriously hurt during the incident.
