Major League Soccer to Move Production Studio to WWE Headquarters

Major League Soccer will relocate its content creation division to fresh studios situated within the HQ of WWE in Stamford, Connecticut, as a part of an updated agreement with IMG.

In the context of a fresh multi-year agreement, MLS (Major League Soccer) and IMG are set to continue their collaboration. Specifically, IMG will be responsible for creating live match broadcasts, studio productions, and programming for over 600 annual games on MLS Season Pass, which is accessible via Apple TV. MLS Productions will relocate to the Studios at WWE in Stamford, Connecticut. This new facility will act as the central hub for MLS’s popular live studio programming and content, both in English and Spanish. The shift to this new location will allow MLS Productions to expand their offerings for the upcoming season on MLS Season Pass.

The WWE headquarters belongs to TKO Group Holdings, a company that has just struck a deal with Endeavor to buy IMG. This acquisition, set to be finalized in the early part of 2025, is anticipated to take place.

In light of the remarkable energy and anticipation surrounding the league, we are elated to strengthen our collaboration with IMG, which will help us achieve our goal of enhancing production quality, developing fresh viewing experiences, and pioneering advancements in sports broadcasting,” expressed Seth Bacon, MLS’s media executive vice president, in a pre-written statement.

The WWE Studios spans over 30,000 square feet and houses five versatile studios packed with various production resources.

In the year 2023, Major League Soccer (MLS) and Apple introduced MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. IMG is responsible for creating content for various leagues such as the Premier League, English Football League, Saudi Pro League, CBS’ UEFA Champions League and Europa League coverage, UFC, DP World Tour, The Ryder Cup, The Open Championship, and numerous others.
