A new update for Madden 26 is here, and it adds Drake Maye as a Superstar player! The update gives the Patriots quarterback three special abilities, plus new gear for all game modes. New Superstar – Drake Maye (receives the following Abilities):
- Protected – Receive better pass blocking from offense
- Long Range Deadeye – Perfect accuracy on all deep throws while their feet are set (Except on low/high throws)
- Fearless – Reduces chance to be impacted by throw penalties caused by defensive pressure while their feet are set in the pocket
Gameplay – Madden 26 Title Update Patch Notes
- Fixed an issue where users could hot route Bubble receivers on RPO Bubble plays after audibling from a different formation
- Players involved in the screen can no longer be hot routed at any point
- Fixed an issue where the ball carrier freezes during the get-up after a reach-for-the-goal-line tackle animation.
- Adjusted defensive alignment in the Nickel 2-4 Odd Mug formation

- F7 Pro Helmet
- 9 F7 Pro Face Mask
This update introduces Drake Maye, a new Superstar player. Projected to be a potential MVP in 2025, Maye is the quarterback for the Patriots and led them to a 14-3 record, securing the second seed in the AFC.
Okay, so I just upgraded Maye, and it’s a game-changer! He’s got these new abilities – Protected, Long Range Deadeye, and Fearless – which basically mean he’s way better at holding up in the pocket when I’m getting rushed. His deep throws are much more accurate now, and defenders can’t rattle him as easily, so I’m not getting those annoying throw penalties anymore. It’s a huge boost to my passing game!
After a fantastic second season, many felt Maye had proven himself as a top player. Now, as the playoffs begin, he needs to consistently perform at that high level to maintain his reputation. However, his primary focus right now is likely winning games.
This update addresses a few gameplay problems and introduces a couple of new items. It’s a fairly minor update, which is understandable since Madden 26 has been available for several months and major changes are less common this far into its release.
