It’s sad to see what’s become of Love Is Blind. The show that gave us Lauren and Cameron is now filling time with a bizarre competition involving an NBA player and exes fighting over a wedding ring that wasn’t even fully paid for. It feels pointless, and honestly, even Netflix seems lost. Everyone involved is clearly focused on social media buzz, with the hosts and producers manufacturing drama like “#RingGate” instead of asking meaningful questions. Most of the Denver cast seemed more concerned with how they’d appear online than with actually addressing the issues. A good reunion should be a real conversation, not a series of pre-written statements. My advice to the cast? If you’re going to put on a show, at least act – some of you could have used some acting lessons.
It seems Netflix intentionally set a breezy, outdoor scene for the reunion – thankfully Kalybriah’s mom brought a blanket! After Myles Smith sang everyone to their seats, Sparkle Megan started by explaining why she and Jordan broke up. She said they had different lifestyles, but admits she maybe should have been a little more understanding. Ultimately, she made the decision based on her feelings at the time, as she’s previously dated people based on what they could be. Jordan then explained that his comment about regretting introducing Luca to Megan wasn’t about her at all, but about his own decision to be on Love Is Blind when his son needs a stable home life.
Megan reveals some big news: she recently had a son named Brooks! She kept her pregnancy a secret from almost everyone on the show except Kacie, explaining the cast’s surprise at her changing appearance. After filming ended in April, Megan dated both Mike and Blake briefly. Then, in July, she met Paul through a friend, and they quickly became a couple. She became pregnant after three months of dating. Jordan knew about the baby beforehand, but it seems Megan might not have shared the news if he hadn’t contacted her after someone tried to cause drama online.
From a TV show standpoint, it would have been more engaging to see Jordan’s immediate reaction to the news, especially since the paparazzi found out before Netflix did. It’s also a shame they didn’t connect this life update to what happened during the season. The hosts mention Megan questioning if motherhood was right for her in the finale, but they don’t really explore how she’s embraced it. We’re left wondering things like: is her partner financially secure enough to support a family? Do they have childcare help? And how has becoming a parent changed her lifestyle, considering her past reasons for ending things with Jordan? Instead, the show focuses on cute baby pictures and general messages about selflessness and compassion.
Jordan addressed a misunderstanding from a recent show where Mike incorrectly implied type 1 diabetes is caused by diet. Jordan explained that Mike apologized privately and made a significant donation to a related charity, so he believes Mike deserves forgiveness. He also shared that he’s dating casually but isn’t ready to introduce his son, Luca, to anyone yet. Now, the show is shifting focus to Kacie and Patrick, a couple who didn’t even make it to Denver.
It seems like Jordan and Joe aren’t very engaging when sharing their stories, and honestly, their reactions while others talk are more captivating. Patrick thought seeing the details of their breakup in the show was interesting, but also a bit awkward. We find out Kacie reached out to Patrick after they returned to Denver, but wasn’t ready to have a phone conversation. He eventually told her he wanted to be friends and asked for his ring back. At a party, he jokingly called her “ex-wifey,” which upset her. Now, he just wants her to apologize so the online criticism of her will stop.
Kacie is trying to say she’s sorry, but she insists she truly loved Patrick, even though he only saw her as a casual fling. She agrees to return the ring she received from Netflix, which leads to a bizarre impression of Vanessa Lachey. However, this attempt at a clean break is immediately followed by a flashback of them having fun playing basketball in the pods. Then, Chris Paul from the LA Clippers appears and challenges Kacie and Patrick to a basketball shoot-out for the ring. Kacie wins, Patrick congratulates her and gives her the ring back. It all leaves you wondering what the entire conversation was even for.
Then, Joe faces some tough questions. He admits he and Kacie did date for about a month and a half, but says the relationship ended naturally. Madison accuses Kacie of flirting with Joe at a party shortly before his tuxedo fitting, but Joe insists that wasn’t the reason he ended things with Madison. He explains he hadn’t broken up with her yet because he was with friends and wanted to enjoy the evening.
Dating in Denver seems limited, to the point where many people from the show ended up at the same party as Joe and his current girlfriend. It feels like a small town – one contestant, Kait, is friends with both Madison and Joe’s girlfriend, but says everyone has been surprisingly supportive. Madison claims Kacie acted like they were close friends – despite using an insensitive term – and confided in her about her feelings for Joe at the party. Patrick doesn’t support Kacie’s story, and it seems he was mostly there to drink. Joe insists he didn’t overlap any relationships, but admits things were complicated. He met with Madison after filming for what he recalls as a disagreement, which then turned into a make-out session, and he cried while walking her to her car. Madison has seemingly accepted she won’t get answers, but did confront Joe for making her self-conscious about her appearance. Joe responds that there was a physical connection, and they mostly just argued and had sex, denying any intention of body-shaming her. He still apologizes if he came across that way.
Nick followed up with a lengthy apology to Kait for how he treated her in the pods, admitting he completely failed to take responsibility and didn’t deserve her. He was so self-critical, it almost prevented Kait from sharing her own feelings. She pointed out his flirting felt robotic, like it was written by a chatbot, and his apology seemed insincere, noting he only reached out once cameras were rolling. Surprisingly, Nick wasn’t asked much about his ex-fiancée, Annie, but she stepped in to defend him, suggesting his feelings were genuine, possibly because she understands how quickly emotions can change in the pods (and insisted she doesn’t regret her choice). Annie also admitted she was forcing things with Nick and they are now just friends. A humorous moment occurred when Nick recalled texting Joe to downplay any conflict after Joe struggled to say something positive about him on camera. Joe immediately apologized, and Nick acknowledged he had distanced himself from the group.
The drama shifts back to Kacie, who’s being accused of flirting with a guy someone else is interested in. Kait claims she had a date with Brenden and was happy until she saw him getting very close to Kacie at a party Kacie hosted. Kacie tries to deny it and asks Patrick to confirm her story, but he doesn’t, so she attempts to control the narrative by saying they should cut that part out of the show. It’s surprising to see how often this group continued to socialize even after filming wrapped up.
Eventually, the Lacheys recall that two other couples did actually get married. Anton and Ali get stuck on comments made by his friend’s ex-girlfriend about his partying and visits to strip clubs. It’s strange that they spend so much time questioning Ali about why she didn’t address these concerns with Anton herself, especially since Netflix released a deleted scene showing her already discussing it with him. It seems odd they didn’t use that footage instead of having Ali claim she doesn’t remember the conversation.
These two haven’t revealed much new information. Ali continues to say Anton seemed different while they were dating and insists his career or goals didn’t influence her decision to end things. She’s now also bothered that he wore flip-flops on a trip to Baja, joking about it, but Anton has moved on and has been happily dating Miranda for about a year. Ali says she’s grateful for the attention, but prefers to keep her personal life private.
Kalybriah and Edmond are the last couple we’ll discuss. Kalybriah often pulls notes from her dress, not to prove a point, but because she struggles to remember things. She seems like the most rational person on the show. She insists her connection with Edmond is real, but also explains how she began to see his tears as a way to manipulate her. Kalybriah claims Edmond stopped crying and became unpleasant when the cameras weren’t rolling. She recounts a time when she was upset and went to him for support, but he dismissed her feelings and walked away, saying he didn’t understand.
Edmond gets defensive when accused of manipulation, seemingly unable to grasp that his genuine self and manipulative behavior can coexist. Kalybriah observes a recurring pattern: Edmond frequently professes his love – even dramatically getting on his knees – as a way to smooth things over when problems arise. His insistence on loving her even during her period feels particularly tone-deaf and elicits eye-rolls from many women.
During their final moments together, Kalybriah told Edmond that they were destined to meet, and he had helped her become more patient. She advised him to only accept respectful love. Edmond responded by saying Kalybriah was incredible and that he wouldn’t have found someone like her without going through this experience. While his words felt a little less heartfelt than her message, they ended with a hug.
The reunion ends on a bizarre note when we find out it’s Jordan’s birthday. There’s a brief scare that they’ll be celebrating with chicken smoothies, but thankfully Blake brings out a tiny dessert instead. They also manage to squeeze in some protein ice cream and a plug for Ninja products. We’re told to celebrate love, and the episode closes with a montage of Anton’s toes. Despite all the apologies offered throughout the episode, we’re left wondering why we didn’t get one for that ending.
