Louis Theroux explained why Andrew Tate refused to participate in his Netflix documentary, ‘Into the Manosphere,’ and shared Tate’s amusing explanation for the refusal.
Louis Theroux’s new documentary, “Into the Manosphere,” is available on Netflix. It includes interviews with prominent figures in the online manosphere, such as HSTikkyTokky, Ed Matthews, Myron Gaines, Justin Waller, and Sneako.
In the beginning of the documentary, Theroux says he’s trying to figure out what motivates these male influencers who offer advice on how to succeed in life, and why they have such strong, often controversial, opinions.
Despite a prominent figure being central to the film’s story, they declined to be involved, as Louis explains.
Andrew Tate snubbed Louis Theroux doc because he’s “irrelevant”

The documentary Maanosphere features Andrew Tate as someone who influenced some of the people featured, and is friends with others. However, Tate himself isn’t interviewed in the film. Louis Theroux recently explained to Romesh Ranganathan the reason why he didn’t include an interview with Tate.
Andrew Tate is the most prominent figure in the online ‘Manosphere’ community. When we first began working on this, we anticipated that he would likely be involved.
Throughout the filming process, I communicated with Andrew and Tristan Tate frequently. At one point, Andrew suggested he might participate only if we paid him, but I told him we weren’t going to.
He basically dismissed me, asking why he should even bother talking to me since I wasn’t important anymore. Then he sent me a graph – one of those Google graphs that tracks how often someone’s been searched for over time. It showed a bright blue line that used to be really high, indicating a lot of interest in me at one point.
I noticed a small red line at the bottom of the screen, and a voice said, “I’m blue, you’re red.” I was hardly paying attention, and it struck me that no one was searching for information about me online.
Theroux claps back at Tate

When Louis stopped responding, Romesh joked that it was probably because everyone already knew who he was!
Theroux playfully responded to Tate by pointing out a technical mishap during their online exchange. He explained that his chat line briefly appeared above Tate’s, so he took a screenshot, highlighted it, and jokingly claimed, ‘I’m literally more relevant than you are!’ He described the moment as feeling ‘pretty gangster’.
