Season 3 of ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ has been given the green light on Amazon’s Prime Video.
It’s no shock that a renewal has occurred, given that Season 2 concluded with some significant plot twists suggesting a third season was imminent. The second season of the “Lord of the Rings” prequel debuted on Amazon Prime Video on Aug. 29 and wrapped up on Oct. 3. In the finale, Sauron (played by Charlie Vickers) gathered an army of orcs and overpowered the elves at their stronghold Eregion. However, in Season 3, the elves and dwarves are united against the dark lord, and they possess their own powerful rings to challenge him.
Pre-production for the third season has started at our new location, Shepperton Studios, which is situated just beyond London’s city limits. We anticipate commencing filming for this season in the upcoming spring months.

For the upcoming third season, Charlotte Brändström, who previously co-produced and directed several episodes in seasons one and two, will now take on the role of executive producer and director. Sanaa Hamri is set to return as a director for this new season, and Stefan Schwartz, an experienced director, will join the series as well.
The show “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” is overseen by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. Additionally, Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell, and Brändström serve as executive producers. Matthew Penry-Davey takes on the role of producer, while Ally O’Leary, Tim Keene, and Andrew Lee are co-producers.
