Tonight’s “Saturday Night Live” started with an unexpected treat: Lin-Manuel Miranda suddenly appeared on screen amidst the SNL actors, all dressed up in 1700s costumes, reenacting the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
In his “Hamilton” stage attire, Miranda emerged from a secluded spot, greeted by enthusiastic applause, and exclaimed, “We may forfeit our lives for the sake of liberty, but what truly counts is the nation we construct! After all, in America, every man is born equal!
“In America,” spit Miranda, “We will never have a king!”
On stage, James Austin Johnson portrayed Donald Trump with an open-handed gesture and a smile, stating, “You’ll never know! I’m in the midst of my reign,” Johnson declared.
Similar to our nation’s founders, I am establishing a new nation too. Just as they did, we are shaping it in a manner that reflects our predominantly Caucasian demographic. Workplaces should strive to resemble the television series ‘The Office,’ featuring primarily white individuals but including one African-American character who experiences significant challenges. We aim to revive the cultural atmosphere of Stanley.
In a tableau reminiscent of the 1700s, with Johnson portraying Trump, he made this statement: “Check out Lin, he’s been deceived into arriving here, now he’s standing motionless. Meanwhile, I’m back at the White House, and everything is just as it was.” Reflecting on his son Barron, he jokingly referred to him as his most cherished child. He also mentioned Barron’s tall stature and his habit of bumping his head on things. The inauguration, he declared, was a grand achievement. He added that the event took place indoors because of the cold weather and fear.
Johnson mentioned that we had many unexpected visitors, including Melania, which was pleasant.” He acknowledged the presence of wealthy acquaintances such as Zuckerberg, Bezos, and of course Elon. Regarding Elon, he said something similar to what some of his kids have stated, ‘I don’t want him in my life.’
Johnson stated, “He didn’t give a Nazi salute; instead, he was inventing a hybrid greeting that combined ‘hi’ and ‘hello.'” As for Trump’s comments, he added, “He expressed a desire to revert to traditional roles, suggesting one gender would work while the other would cook. In essence, he wants a return to common sense in terms of gender roles. He also mentioned that men shouldn’t wear makeup unless it’s necessary to become president.
Saturday Night Live” made fun of Trump’s new Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth. The president joked about having an exceptional team, but most of them aren’t great. Regarding Hegseth, he said that he was impressed when Hegseth promised to stop drinking if he got the job, and that promise alone won him over!
Johnson glanced at Lin, who was eagerly trying his hand at rap. The crowd would have loved it, but sadly, we won’t be hearing it,” Johnson remarked, indicating toward a motionless Miranda. Johnson continued with a humorous comment about egg prices, saying, “Who would have thought negotiating a cease-fire in Gaza would have been simpler than lowering the cost of eggs?
I’m deeply grateful for Lin’s substantial $1 million contribution to my campaign. I am confident it was indeed him who made the donation.
Indeed, I didn’t!”, I declared, standing side by side with Johnson. Together, we echoed those iconic phrases, “Live from New York, it’s Saturday night!
