After its debut in 2023, there’s been a lot of excitement among gamers about what might come after the ending of Lies of P, created by Neowiz and Round8 Studios. While it’s been hinted that a sequel could feature a new protagonist introduced in the post-credit scene, until this is officially confirmed, fans are eagerly anticipating a revisit to the setting of Krat.
2025 saw Sony host the first PlayStation State of Play presentation of the year, where various studios and publishers unveiled their upcoming titles. Notably, during this event, the developers behind Lies of P made an announcement – they’re planning to release a prequel expansion (or DLC) set in the city of Krat. This eagerly awaited addition is expected to drop on consoles and PC later in 2025.

Return to Krat once more as gamers delve into the enigmas surrounding this legendary city in a fresh DLC for the action RPG Lies of P, titled Overture. Once again, you’ll find yourself commanding P, the mute puppet character players were initially acquainted with at the game’s onset and stayed with throughout the main storyline during the initial release.
The pre-story expansion, titled Overture, delves into events prior to character P’s awakening in a train carriage amidst the chaotic “Great Puppet Uprising” that wrecked the city. Players will embark on an adventure as they unravel the concealed tales surrounding Krat, leading up to that pivotal moment. As stated by game director Jiwon Choi via social media, our objective with Lies of P: Overture was to polish, shape, and complete the narrative as we had initially imagined it. This expansion will also function as a “developer’s cut” of the action RPG.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m eagerly waiting for the release of “Lies of P: Overture.” Although an exact date hasn’t been confirmed yet, we’re looking at a Summer 2025 window according to the game’s announcement trailer. Excitingly, this prequel DLC will be available on PlayStation, Xbox consoles, and PC via Steam. I’ve already added it to my Wishlist, and pre-orders are expected to follow soon!
