LevelK Secures Multiple Deals for Sex Positive Comedies at EFM

A couple of days following the launch in Berlin, the sales and aggregation company, LevelK, has finalized several agreements for their two films led by women, titled “Sudden Outbursts of Emotions” and “Dancing Queen In Hollywood.

The comedy-drama with a sex-positive theme from Finland, titled “Sudden Outbursts of Emotions,” was bought by Cinemaran for distribution in Spain and Andorra, Estin Film for screening in Estonia, and Film Europe S.R.O for broadcast in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

In the first screenplay of Paula Korva, known for her romantic comedies on TV, we follow a couple who face a mid-life crisis and an unconventional sexual desire. Jane assumes her relationship with Mikki is secure, but is shocked when he suggests they open their relationship. To preserve their love, Jane agrees to attend a sex party on an island, which stirs up unexpected feelings. Leading the cast are Iina Kuustonen, Riku Nieminen, Laura Malmivaara and Minka Kuustonen. The Yellow Film & TV production premieres in Finland on March 7.

At the European Film Market on Thursday, Aurora Gossé’s film titled ‘Dancing Queen In Hollywood’, made by a Norwegian director, was bought by Paycom Multimedia for distribution in Spain and Andorra. Earlier agreements had already been made with In The Air for Benelux, Vivarto for Poland, FIVIA for the former Yugoslavia, and Estin Film for the Baltic countries.

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the follow-up to “Dancing Queen,” which first graced our screens at Berlinale Generation Kplus in 2023, is once again being brought to life by Thomas Robsahm of “The Worst Person in The World” fame, under the banner of Amarcord. This time, we rejoin Mina and Markus, the dynamic young hip-hop dancers and friends, as they find themselves whisked away to Los Angeles for a music video gig. An unexpected turn of events leads Mina to a film audition opportunity. Simultaneously, her parents are navigating their own relationship turmoil. Excitingly, we’re looking forward to the local premiere later this year!

Level K’s additional Berlin films include “Live a Little,” a youth drama that won in Göteborg, the Swedish chiller “The Home,” selected for SXSW, and the Dutch comedy-drama “Idyllic,” which premiered in competition at Rotterdam.
