When it debuts in May, the Lenovo Legion Go S will be the first handheld PC other than the Steam Deck to operate on Valve’s SteamOS. On paper, this $500 device outperforms the Steam Deck. However, since it doesn’t include an OLED screen or trackpads, you might want to compare its advantages and disadvantages with those of the Steam Deck before making a decision.

If you’re looking for a handheld device running on SteamOS, that’s one option. However, if you prefer a portable device with Windows, the Lenovo Legion Go S will be available soon. Priced at around $730 and scheduled for release in the coming weeks, this high-end model offers twice the RAM and storage capacity compared to the SteamOS version. You can pre-order it now at Best Buy.

Besides the Legion Go S, Lenovo also has another handheld in the pipeline, called the Legion Go 2. This device is set to launch this year, although a specific release date hasn’t been disclosed just yet. The Legion Go 2 boasts a stronger Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, an 8.8-inch, 144Hz OLED screen with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and a larger 74Wh battery compared to its predecessor.
