Batman is getting a new Lego adventure! Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight arrives on PlayStation 5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on May 29, 2026. The game celebrates Batman’s history, letting you play as different versions of the hero and explore various versions of Gotham City, all built with Lego bricks. You can pre-order the game now: the standard edition costs $70, and a $90 Deluxe Edition includes extra gear and vehicles. If you pre-order the Deluxe Edition, you can even start playing a few days early! All pre-orders also come with bonus cosmetic items.
The biggest news about Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on the Switch 2 is that it seems like a traditional physical game. Unlike some Switch releases that are just download codes on a card, this version will likely have the full game right on the cartridge. This means you won’t need to download any extra files to your console’s storage, which is good news given the limited space. This makes sense because Nintendo recently started offering publishers smaller, more affordable game cartridges.
Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Preorder Bonuses

If you pre-order any version of Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, you’ll receive a special batsuit based on the iconic blue-and-grey design from the classic comic book, The Dark Knight Returns.
If you pre-order the Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Deluxe Edition, you’ll be able to start playing up to 72 hours before the official release date of May 26, 2026.

While Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight looks familiar, the gameplay is a big step forward. It now features action-packed combat similar to the Batman: Arkham series, but simplified so players of all ages can jump in and enjoy it, even when facing bigger and tougher groups of enemies. Batman won’t be working alone – he’ll be teaming up with allies like Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and even Catwoman to protect Gotham City.
Every hero has their own special abilities and tools. Gordon uses a foam sprayer to stop enemies, Batgirl can hack into systems with her ‘hackarang,’ and Nightwing fights with a versatile battle-staff. Players will explore a detailed, open-world Gotham City as the Bat-Family confronts iconic villains like the Joker, Ra’s al Ghul, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, the Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Bane, and Firefly.
In the game, Batman can unlock and drive a variety of Batmobiles, including famous versions seen in movies and TV shows like the ones from Batman ’89, The Dark Knight, and Batman: The Animated Series. Between fighting crime, he returns to the Batcave, which is filled with hidden details like Two-Face’s oversized coin and a huge collection of Batsuits. Players can collect a total of 100 different suits and outfits for the whole Bat-Family.
If you’re looking for other games to preorder, here are a few launching before Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Resident Evil: Requiem comes out on February 27th, Pragmata on April 24th, and both Saros and Invincible will be available starting April 30th.
