Legendary Marvel Hero Won’t Be in Avengers: Doomsday – Report

A recent rumor claims Star-Lord, a popular hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, won’t appear in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. This speculation arose after Chris Pratt, the actor who plays Star-Lord, avoided directly answering questions about his role in the movie during a recent interview. Star-Lord was a key player in both Avengers: Infinity War and the huge battle against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame.

Marvel’s legendary outlaw, Star-Lord rumored to sit out of Avengers: Doomsday

According to a recent report from insider MyTimetoShineHello, Star-Lord won’t appear in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie. However, he is expected to be featured in the next Avengers film, Avengers: Secret Wars.

Despite a previous claim that Star-Lord would appear in both a movie and the Disney+ series Vision Quest, fellow insider James Mack dismissed the rumor. They confidently stated, “No way – I’m absolutely certain Quill will be in Doomsday!”

Right now, this is just speculation. Marvel Studios hasn’t confirmed whether the hero who uses a blaster will be in the movie Avengers: Doomsday.

Just days after Chris Pratt, known for playing Star-Lord, jokingly told Jimmy Kimmel he’d only reveal whether he was in the movie Doomsday to Pope Leo XIV – a pope he claimed to have met in December 2025 – this story has gained attention.

It’s possible Star-Lord will appear in Avengers: Doomsday, along with other characters who haven’t been officially confirmed yet, like his fellow Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and the Hulk.

The movie Doomsday will be released in theaters on December 18, 2026. It features a team-up of Earth’s mightiest heroes – the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and the warriors of Wakanda – battling Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, and the screenplay is written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely.
