At the end of September, Microsoft released the last game planned for Xbox and PC Game Pass subscribers this month. From today onward, those with a subscription can play Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, a unique adventure featuring the well-known archaeologist.
This game stands out due to its isometric perspective and emphasis on teamwork between Lara Croft and her ally, Totec, a Mayan warrior (though a solo playthrough is also possible). They must work together to defeat the villain Xolotl, relying on the power of an ancient relic to succeed.
Before these two characters reach their objective, they’ll embark on an adventure filled with challenges. They must overcome environmental puzzles, avoid dangerous traps, and battle enemies inspired by Mayan mythology. During combat, Lara uses her signature dual pistols, and Totec fights with a spear.
As a big fan, I always thought Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light was a really cool game, and it actually feels like it helped set the stage for the 2013 Tomb Raider. It’s neat to remember that the game got a sequel, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, too!
