Yesterday saw the launch of Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered, a trio of revamped games from the beloved Lara Croft series, expertly crafted by Aspyr Media studio. The remastered collection has been warmly received by fans, although it didn’t quite manage to draw as many players to their screens as the previous set did.

Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered – player activity and ratings
Based on data from SteamDB, a total of 3,893 individuals simultaneously played Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered at one point. This number might increase over the weekend. It’s interesting to note that the performance of the refreshed package for the first three installments has been significantly better. In fact, right after the launch of Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, a peak of 6,789 players were playing it on Steam, which is a much higher figure.
Concerning the scores for sets IV-VI, they’re quite favorable. To date, 223 Steam users have shared their feedback, with an impressive 92% expressing positive sentiments. For comparison, installments I-III boast over 5,000 reviews and 90% of those are also positive. It appears that Aspyr Media has maintained its high standards, delivering another title that has pleased Lara Croft enthusiasts once more.
A large number of Steam players find these remasters to be well-done, as they successfully preserve key elements from the originals while upgrading graphics and incorporating user-friendly enhancements. Nonetheless, it’s not without its flaws, and there are minor issues within the collection. Fortunately, these imperfections don’t diminish the overall positive impact.
While perusing the Steam forum, one may encounter comments from various players. Some of these players express concerns that the overall game is excessively dark, a trait that was present in parts I-III as well. There are also grievances about the cutscenes, which were created in a 4:3 aspect ratio, or sounds that are too soft. However, the majority of complaints seem to focus on the sixth installment of the series, Angel of Darkness, which, in addition to the 60 fps limitation, also has numerous other problems.
Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered is available on PC, PS4, PS5, XOne, XSX/S, and Nintendo Switch.
